ellie is the type to not be completely aware of her actions until its too late. by this i mean, imagine you're having a meal with her. she signals to you that you have a crumb or smudge of chocolate or something on your face, but will immediately reach over and every so gently wipe it off the corner of your mouth for you. she smiles and brushes your hair into place too, then returns to her own meal as if nothing happened. only after a few beats of silence, and when your face morphs into a shocked expression does she realize what she actually did—a gesture far too intimate for any "friendship". cue the awkwardness, cue her embarrassment, and most of all, cue the scarlet blush that envelops her entire face, reaches her ears and descends to her neck as well. she buries her head in her hands after profusely apologizing, your gleeful laugh making her heart seize. the situation’s diffused, but this will haunt her for at least a while, if not forever. ♡

I kept debating how to end this short little mini comic. In the original script, they were gonna hold hands (scandalous, I know lmfao), but I didn't think it hit quite right in comic format when I tried to make it longer. Hence why it ends... like that.

Anyways I wrote like a ton of comic scripts for COTL comics that just didn't hit right / I couldn't commit to making and then when driving home from work last week in the pitch darkness I thought about how nice it is to see like actual stars. And I feel like with the cult grounds being kind of among a lot of trees and all that it might take a short hike to get a really, really, really good view of the night sky and stuff. Thus. This.

It's arguably not my best work (I'm out of practice drawing good night skies and all that) but I'm happy with it. Enjoy this thing I made

Captain Marvel has been a member of the Justice League for over a decade, joining shortly after his debut.

Billy Batson was chosen as Champion of Magic at age 9.

By all appearances, Billy is currently age 11.

When a person is chosen as the Champion, the effects of such a strong concentration of magic kinda fucks with their aging. With an adult, there's not really that big of a deal; some people look younger than they are due to genetics.

Unfortunately, it is much more noticeable when the Champion is a child.

Billy isn't an eternal child, or anything, he's still going to grow up. His aging just stopped while his body adapted to being the anchor to all of magic. So now he's a middle school aged kid, with a twin sister who just turned 21.

Finally, finally, after metaphorically beating my head against a brick wall for (checks notes) almost three months, I've landed on a design for Upgraded N that I like. Cut back on some details from my earlier iterations of the concept, added some new ones, and overall I'm very happy with the results. N hasn't changed as wildly as V has, but he's still got some differences. Like elbow spikes! And feet that actually kind of make mechanical sense! And a sweater! Did you see the sweater (he really likes the sweater).

i do not mean this in a negative sense!! this post is just 4 the argumentative people who always need to be right to use that in a helpful way ♡

obviously this probably won't work for everyone, so take it with a pinch of salt. just a little thing i like to do to satisfy my craving for victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as a PROFESSIONAL at arguing and making sure i come out right and on top, as usual, i have found myself utilising this to my own benefit more and more as of late.

cancelling out the bad thoughts with good ones is not a new phenomenon, and neither is getting into a sort of conversation with yourself whilst performing said cancellation. but they still stand as some of the most effective methods of mindset shifts, and we'll be making use of that in this method.

the only difference with this tactic is that you have intention and victory. which for people like me, who always need to be right and win every argument ever, can be super fun and super effective!

🐈‍⬛️👛𓂃 ࣪˖ so... what does that mean?

this means that whenever you find yourself thinking something negatively, whether it be about yourself, another person, or just something the ideal version of you wouldn't be thinking about, you fight back!

you argue, mentally, in a semi civil yet strategic manner in ur head, until you get the outcome you want; proving that thought wrong. that is the goal. eliminating it entirely. it is not what you want, so you allow yourself, the ideal version of you, to get rid of what doesn't align with you. if this can happen physically, then it can happen mentally too, with your mindset instead!

think of it as a sort of cleansing. dont consider this thought hostile or an enemy, consider it something lost and needing help. because that's what it is. don't be cruel to it. be cool and collected and smart and strategic and argue until you get the outcome you want. plus, its great practise if you get into any real arguments too! (just in case ♡)

Headcanon (+ mini fic, oops) that Melkor and Mairon proposed to each other on the same day, at the same time, without either of them knowing the other was going to do it too.

Both of them made the rings. Both of them made arrangements to go somewhere special with the other (read: top of a volcano), secretly snickering because oh, he's going to be so surprised. Both of them spent the days and weeks before stressing, wondering if the other would even say yes at all, worrying that they would slip and lose the ring, internally panicking because what if they mess something up and ruin everything they've done to build this relationship in the first place? What if they're going too far? Too soon? What if he doesn't even LIKE volcanoes or gold or what if the ring is the wrong size or what if--

And then both of them show up. And then both of them say they have a question for the other, going back and forth about who should ask first. (Because really, neither of them want to ask first. Neither of them want to take this risk without knowing that they have the other's support. Without hearing the other's voice secretly encourage them first).

And then they finally settle on Mairon asking first, because Melkor insists that he can wait. Besides, whatever Mairon has to say must be more pressing, right? (Or maybe Melkor's fear won out. Maybe Melkor feels that it'll be easier to hear Mairon say no after they've broken the ice).

But Mairon doesn't ask him about strategies or Utumno's floor plan. Mairon doesn't ask him what he thinks on this new chemical he found. He asks him to marry him. Mairon. Who Melkor was planning on asking the exact same question to. Asks him to marry him.

Melkor is somewhere in between ecstatic and frozen in time, and all he can think to do is squeak out a "yes" and pull out the ring he had made, with his own hands, for Mairon. Mairon sees it and starts laughing, then Melkor starts laughing, then Melkor is laughing and crying and Mairon is holding him so very close. Close enough to feel his breath, certainly. His heartbeat, too. His Fëa, as they slip their rings onto each other's fingers and find themselves unable to let go once they're intertwined.

Neither can look back on that day without laughing, because how could they not? It was a hilarious story to tell at their wedding, and may or may not have sparked some local traditions and epic retellings from the orcs. But that was also the day both of them realized just how in sync they were, nearly incapable of playing through their own themes without calling back to the other's own.
